The short version
Chills collects only the information needed to provide accounts, personal libraries, community features, and a reliable service. Chills does not sell personal data or use it for cross-app advertising.
Information we collect
- Your email address, account identifier, and optional display name.
- Activity you choose to create, including likes, listening history, chill moments, votes, memories, nominations, content reports, blocked-listener choices, and support requests.
- Technical and security information processed by our hosting and database providers, such as IP address, browser or device details, request logs, and authentication events.
- Business contact information and partnership details you submit, or that we find on an organisation's official public website when considering a relevant business-to-business partnership.
How we use information
We use this information to authenticate you, provide your library and listening statistics, publish contributions you intentionally make public, operate moderation and rights-holder workflows, prevent abuse, diagnose problems, maintain the security of Chills, and manage carefully targeted partner outreach. We use consent for inbound partner enquiries and may rely on legitimate interests for proportionate corporate business-to-business outreach, subject to review and your right to object.
Service providers and media platforms
Chills uses Supabase for authentication and database services, Vercel for hosting and private file storage, Exa to research public business sources, and Instantly and our email provider to manage reviewed partner outreach. When you play or open embedded media, YouTube, SoundCloud, Bandcamp, Archive.org, or the relevant media host may receive technical information and apply its own privacy policy. External artist-support and contribution links are governed by the destination service.
Public information
A display name and a visible performance memory may be shown to other people. Accepted nomination details are shown without the submitter's identity. Likes, votes, chill moments, and crowd ratings appear only as anonymous totals; their account-linked rows, your listening history, and your email address are not public.
Community safety
Reports and blocked-listener choices are private. We use reports to review potentially objectionable content and blocks to hide that contributor's public memories from your account. A reported contribution may be held or removed while it is reviewed.
Retention and deletion
Account information and personal activity are kept while your account is active. You can permanently delete your account and associated data from the Account screen or at chills.live/account/delete. You may also email us. Limited security or legal records may be kept only where required.
Your choices
You can browse without an account, choose what community content to submit, update your display name, and delete your account. To request access, correction, or help with deletion, contact hello@chills.live.
Partner outreach
Every partner email identifies Chills and provides a simple way to opt out. If you object or ask us to stop, we keep the minimum email address or domain needed on a suppression list so the request is respected. We do not use private-data scraping or buy indiscriminate consumer lists.
Children
Chills is not directed to children under 13. If you believe a child has provided personal information without appropriate permission, contact us so we can remove it.
Changes
We may update this policy when the product or its providers change. The current version and its effective date will always appear on this page.
